This bibliometric study evaluated research trends on binocular vision dysfunction in keratoconus, with particular emphasis on knowledge gaps related to scleral contact lenses. A comprehensive Scopus search identified English-language original articles and reviews published between 2000 and 2025. Bibliometric mapping was performed using VOS viewer. A total of 334 publications were analyzed. Research output increased substantially after 2019, reflecting growing interest in scleral lens technology, lens design, corneal optics, and optical correction. Approximately 15 highly productive authors contributed prominently, with most studies published in specialized contact lens journals. However, keyword co-occurrence analysis revealed minimal focus on binocular visual function, with terms such as stereopsis, vergence anomalies, binocular coordination, and binocular dysfunction largely absent. These findings highlight a significant knowledge gap and underscore the need for future studies evaluating binocular visual outcomes in keratoconus patients fitted with scleral lenses.
